I finally felt good being back in the gym tonight. I think I had started to get worn down, but for once I felt ready to go when 5:30 came!
Fast forward back to this morning.
I woke up and the first thing I did was go down and get a morning protein shake.
This is what I really call my “breakfast in bed.” It was so cold this morning so I decided that I wasn’t quit ready to get out of bed and drank my shake under the covers 🙂 Please ignore the early morning hair.
The gym wasn’t too crowded today and I told myself to slow down and take my time. I have been really rushing some of my workouts this week I think because I have been so tired. Tonight I wanted to slow down and take the time to really focus on my form.
Tonight I focused on core work primarily. I also did a small amount of cardio – walking. I am trying to keep the cardio as low as possible on this first month. I am still really loving Carrie’s plan for me and really enjoy how she has been able to customize it to my schedule and experience.
I was pretty tired after the workout, but in my opinion that is the best way to be! I still am struggling a bit with my diet, but am working to do the best I can and am slowly starting to get the hang of this.
That was the break down from Polar watch after my workout today. I do still pay too much attention to my calories burned because that is what I was always focused on when I used to run all the time. I am trying to instead focus on the intensity of my weight workouts and to make sure I am doing the best way and form for my body.
I have mentioned this yet on the blog because this has been a tough time for us, but my husband is currently nursing a pretty big injury. He is almost positive he has a stress fracture in his back. He went to the doctor yesterday and as I type this he is getting an MRI to be able to tell him for sure. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Running is one of the most important things in his life and I know this is a really hard time for him.
After I got home from the gym I did find something fun on my doorstep!
BioRhythm Ads sent me some samples to try of their products. Keep a look out for a review coming soon!
Off to chat with parents back home. Hope everyone has a great Thursday night. It is almost the weekend!
