First off I want to say please keep those affected by the bombings at the Boston Marathon in your prayers. I still cannot understand why anyone would do such a horrible thing. Thankfully my husband and I got out about 45 minutes before the bombings and had just gotten off the subway when it happened. I have never been so thankful that Wes is a fast runner.
On a much more positive note, Wes did amazing. He finished with a time of 2:37. It was a not a PR but after being injured and having to take almost 3 weeks off I am so so proud of his accomplishments.
He was in pain but he finished, he did amazing, and he continues to be my constant inspiration!
Even though he was running very fast I was able to snap a quick picture of him as he passed me. This was right after he blew me a kiss – always makes my heart melt 🙂
The runners could not have asked for a better day weather wise. It was in the high 50’s, sunny, and much better than the 85 degrees that they faced last year when running.
I have to admit I took pretty much every day this weekend off from working out. I did walk A LOT while we were down there, but I did let my guard down a bit with the workouts and food, and I was OK with that. This was my husbands weekend and outside of one small break down I wanted to make sure he knew that.
We only got about 2 hours of sleep last night before I had to get back up and head to work, so I took today off to try and unpack and get things back to normal. My goal for the next couple weeks is to LEAN OUT. I am going to be incorporating a good amount cardio back into my routine. I plan on still sticking to my weight lifting plan with Carrie but I need to lean out and get back down to a much better weight for me.
I will continue to post what I do and I will let everyone know the cardio I add outside the plan. Once I get back down to the weight I am looking to be at and lean out I will cut back on the cardio some to maintain. I can’t wait to see the results on my body once I lean out and get rid of a little bit of excess weight.
Looking forward to getting back into it!
I will leave you with a picture that I posted on my instagram earlier today. #hugarunner today!
