Watch out world – I am running again. Well at least on the weekends.
Today I woke up after working yesterday and being exhausted and decided it was such a beautiful day it would be a complete waste not to get up and RUN!
My husband helped me map out a 10 mile course. I really wanted something scenic and out in the country. There is something so peaceful and relaxing about running in the country to me.
He mapped out a great course for me and I loaded it onto my MapMyRun app on my iPhone. I used this app last week when I was trying out a new course and loved it. I have a Garmin but I have a bad problem of looking at it to much. I can start this app and only look at it when I need to make sure I am going the right way – which happened several times during this run.
The course was beautiful. The first 3 miles were uphill, but once you were able to get through that it was so relaxing just to enjoy the view.
Oh nothing more attractive then a mid-run picture right? I think this was around mile 5.5 when I stopped and accidentally stopped my run tracking too. Oops! Just ended up starting it back up and finishing out the 10 miles.
Another pretty scenic picture. Sometimes you just have to stop and enjoy the view.
I love training and sometimes it is what I need to motivate myself to get out the door, but after taking several months off of running it is so nice to just go out at whatever pace I want and enjoy it. This basics of running are so important to remember.
After our runs we showered and headed out to get out of the house a bit. Wes has some really big tests coming up, so when we have a chance it is nice to get him out of the house and just walk around stores and relax together. Plus, there really isn’t much else to do in Erie.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday! Time to watch a movie and get my plans ready for the week!
