Today’s Workout – Recovery/Easy Run(s)
Total Mileage: 10.12 miles
Total Time: 01:34:29
Average Pace: 9:30 min/pace
I am just going to go ahead and throw this out there in case anyone is listening – if anyone would like to pay me to work from home every day you would make me the happiest girl in the world! Ok?
Seriously though I enjoyed getting to wake up and slowly get my run in as I felt like it.
I broke my run up in 2 sections because my husband had to run a little later today and I wanted to give him some motivation and wait to do part of mine with him.
I ran the first 5 miles outside while he was at school. It was in the low 70’s, it was slightly windy – it was PERFECT. If it wants to stay this way for the rest of the summer I really won’t complain!
I didn’t have a pace in mind and just let my legs take me as fast or as slow as they wanted – I averaged about a ____. I can tell I am slowly getting quicker, well that and the fact that the weather was perfect.
After my husband finished up at school I met him at the gym. He had a tough workout and I offered to run some of mine beside him to help him get through it. He usually gets to work out in the mornings.
I ran another 4.1 miles at around a 9:30 pace and then one final cool down lap around the indoor track.
I was glad I got in 10 miles today – it really helped to break it up. I can’t always do that but it helped today and made it seem not as bad.
I don’t know why I am so darn happy in this picture. Probably because my running was over, but honestly my runs both went well today so I can’t complain.
I know my Saturday run (if i run this week) will be much less than normal since I work, so I wanted to make sure I got a little bit higher mileage day in.
How far ahead do you plan your workouts?
My husband currently plans most of mine and he will give me Monday-Thursday on Monday morning and then the weekends as it gets closer.
Hi! I just found your blog and love it!
My husband plans out my runs too! He usually gives me about a week at a time, though it adapts as life gets in the way. It’s so handy being married to my coach, as I have 24/7 access to him. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!! 🙂 Isn’t it great having a runner husband who can help with this!? I probably drive him nuts though with being able to ask him questions 24/7! haha
great job on getting your miles in! I’m training right now, and my mileage is NOT coming together like I want it to!
Keep at it girl!! We have great weeks and we have awful weeks – just lace back up those shoes and keep going! 🙂
