Today’s Workout – Long Run
Total Mileage: 12.10 miles
Total Time: 01:56:43
Average Pace: 9:38 min/mile
Happy Saturday!
Saturday is always my favorite day of the week. Unless I am working it usually starts out with a long run and then spending the day with the hubby.
We woke up about 8:30 this morning, took our time getting ready, then headed out to start my long run for the week.
It was supposed to get hot as the afternoon progressed so I wanted to at least get the majority of my run accomplished before the heat set in.
I got to around mile 9 before I started really feeling the heat. Not too bad.
I finished 12.1 miles. It wasn’t the greatest run, wasn’t the worst run, it was just one of the runs that was OK.
I had the hardest time getting this picture because my arm was so sweaty and I was so tired I couldn’t hold my phone still enough.
I think this run made me realize just how far I have to go until I am ready to qualify for Boston. However, this is my first real week of training so that is okay. I will get there. One day at a time!
Of course, nothing like a good sweaty after picture. They are never the most attractive picture but hey if I looked cute at the end of a 12 mile run I would say I didn’t work hard enough.
The husband and I got back to our townhouse and went and take a short swim in the pool. I swear it helps my legs recover and since I have a slow 10 miles tomorrow I want my legs to be properly recovered.
The husband and I have a movie and dinner date tonight.
What are you doing on this great Saturday?
What was your Saturday workout?
Hey Sara! I just found your blog. What race are you thinking to use as your BQ? I ran the Mohawk Marathon in Albany-and it is a GREAT Boston Qualifier. Super flat, very scenic, and good atmosphere!
Hi there! I am actually not quite sure yet. The earliest I could be ready would be spring of 2014 (I have quite a ways to go) – when is the Mohawk Marathon held? It sounds like a contender for sure! Thanks for stopping by my little blog 🙂
I always say, if there’s no sweaty-post-run picture, the run didn’t happen! 🙂
I like that! 🙂
