The treadmill and I have a love/hate relationship. Right now I really miss it though!

Total Mileage – 34 miles
I was sidelined for most of the week, and that made it pretty difficult. The verdict is still out on how this week will begin, but there will be some definitive answers coming soon I hope.
This weeks joys/successes:
1. Monday’s Workout. I had a great workout on Monday. I felt strong and my legs felt really fresh the whole time which rarely seems to happen.
2. I was forced to rest. Okay this could be used as a negative, but I am choosing to look at this as something that will help me in the long term (if I don’t I would go crazy), so I am going to put this in the positive column.
This weeks struggles:
1. No running for 4 days. I don’t know quite what is going on yet, as I said more will be determined this week. It was really hard taking these days off. I am trying to keep myself as busy as possible whether it be with blogging or helping my husband get ready for his upcoming races.
2. Pure perfect running weather. I think the hardest part about being sidelined right now is that the weather has been PERFECT (aside from yesterday) for running. My favorite season is finally here, but it is gone so quickly I fear missing it entirely!
This morning I dropped my husband off to get his run started out in the country.
The weather has just been beautiful recently! I can’t believe the leaves are changing and it is already so cool out!
I plopped down at a local grocery store to get a few things accomplished before I head back out to pick him up.
No matter what is going on with me, I will always be Wes’ number one fan. I will always support his running career. I think that is what I have been reminding myself. No matter what the outcome of tests show, or what my answer ends up being at the end of the day I have an amazing husband who I can’t wait to watch kick butt in his marathons in October!
I found this quote last night while I was surfing the internet and think it is SO true. It doesn’t matter what the finish line ends up being (which yes I hope is my Boston Qualifying time), but it is the STRUGGLE and the JOURNEY to get there that makes you who you are truly shows your success!
Some fun things coming up on the blog this week:
1. Video product review for this awesome product.
PLUS waterproof headphones
This is my first video review AND this little iPod has been such a help to both my husband and I.
2. A new giveaway
3. Hopefully some answers on what is going on with me
4. Finally made the jump and scheduled a hair appointment for Tuesday (with the help of my mother-in-law.)
I have it down to two finalists for the haircut I want. They are pretty similar so we will see what happens.
Option 1:
Option 2:
I won’t be coloring my hair just cutting it, so I am thinking a long bob that I can style both ways.
Which do you like better?
What do you have on the agenda for the week?
Anyone run any races this weekend? How’d it go?
I really like both hair cuts but maybe the first a little more (but really I’m sure they’d both look great!) This week I am going to continue to rest, strength train, and keep at the elliptical. I might try another run in there, but I’m trying to resist to fully let me my body rest. I’d love to run a race in October though, if possible. Hope your rest days have left you feeling better! 🙂
I love that quote! I have a half marathon in 3 weeks and I’ve been battling injury for most of my training cycle, but I’m (trying to be) determined to have fun and just enjoy the fun of race day!
Also, my haircut is very similar to the first option, and I love it!! Perfect to wear long, pull back, or braid.
Good luck on your race!! You will do awesome! I haven’t cut my hair in almost 3 years and I am terrified!! I hope it turns out okay 🙂 glad to hear you like it as long as I can still put it up and it’s not super short I’m sure it’ll be fine!
Hang in there- you have such an amazing attitude!! It really is about the journey, and this bump in the road is something you’ll get through! Lookin forward to the video review- I have killed so many iPods and headphones from sweat (nasty, I know) so I’m always looking for an alternative!
This is an awesome product! Wes has killed I kid you not 8 plus iPod shuffles from his sweat! We have spent so much money on them – this one is a bit more expensive but so worth it for it not to die after a month of two!
Ran my second half marathon and it went great besides some slight hip pain. I finished in 2:02! Yah! I know rest days can be tough mentally, but just hang in there. It will get better and hopefully you’ll be running again soon.
Personally, I like option 2 the best.
Love the pic of your husband – makes you look like a stalker 🙂
Also good to see you’ve ‘taken a deep breath’ on the time-out from running. I think getting out of the house and doing other stuff has been helpful.
As for the hair, is your hair naturally curly? If so I would vote for #2 – again both are cool, but you have to think maintenance as well as initial impression … for those ‘oh crap I have to be there in 15 minutes’ days!
BTW – have enjoyed the honey stinger chews this weekend. Good task without all of the ‘kiddie sugar’ that rots my gut 🙂
Haha maybe I was stalking 😉 It’s okay when he said “I do” he gave me that right! 🙂
I am trying to do the best I can. Only time will tell what is really going on I guess.
My hair is naturally curly but not “pretty” curly kind of like an afro gone out of control curly! HA
Glad you like the honey stingers! They are one of my favorites!!
Option 2! I need both a cut and color, ive let mine grow out and this “ombre” look is not looking so good on me anymore.
Let me a admit- I was happy to see you took a couple of days off. I was beginning to think you were super human and that I was a slug for slacking off. Now I can let myself be okay with it, realize sometimes we have to be more self forgiving and move on.
HA I wish I was super human! Sometimes we need these wake up calls to remind us of such things. Oh well! You live and you learn and move on! Working on the moving on part now… 🙂
