I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend with friends and family.
It was back to normal in our household today, but we did sleep in a little bit later than normal. It was nice to wake up when our bodies decided we’d slept long enough.
We headed to the gym pretty soon after we had gotten up and done the morning “chores.”
My morning chores always consist of:
1. Take Zoe out to go to the bathroom and for a short walk
2. Turn on the heat
3. Clean out the litter box
4. Fix my breakfast
5. Drink at least 8 oz. of water
6. Check my blog feed
7. Respond to comments
I feel like I am on repeat almost every morning. After this was done this morning we got dressed and I headed to the gym. Wes decided he would run there so that allowed me to take my time.
I had another test run today and for some reason I was so nervous for this one.
My test was to run 2 miles (again inside due to weather) slow and easy and see how my leg responded.
I ended up running both miles at around a 10:20 pace, but I am really making a point to not focus on pace right now.
I did 2 miles in just over ten and a half minutes and then walked until I hit 30 minutes.
The timing ended up being perfect because the husband arrived at the gym a few minutes before I finished.
I am happy to report once again that there was NO pain! The only thing I did notice was that my groin was really tight. I don’t know if this is because I have been favoring my leg for so long or if it is just from not running.
Either way, I spent the next 10 minutes foam rolling and stretching.
I hope that this helps to alleviate some of the tightness.
After we got back from the gym I fixed myself a quick snack.
Two scrambled eggs with spinach and a rice cake with jelly.
Wes wanted to head out and check out some sales before he had to get to studying. We went to the mall (we were able to trade out my Galaxy S4 for the white one I had been wanting) and walked around.
We found a few things but nothing crazy, it was just nice to get out of the house!
I am looking forward to taking it easy this weekend and catching up on some things!
My husband has one of his two big tests this week so we have one day of traveling ahead later in the week.
Lastly, I thought I would leave you with the recipe I talked about creating the other day. My Multigrain Cheerio Pretzel M&M Rice Krispie Treats creation for Thanksgiving. It’s crazy simple and for those of you with kiddos or who are kids at heart I promise you will love it!

I’m off to head to the gym. Have a great Saturday!
What is your morning routine?
Did you purchase anything during Black Friday?
Glad the leg is feeling OK still! I didn’t do any workouts yesterday so I’m anxious to do a 5 mile run today. The good news is I’m getting a facial after I’m done. Ah rewards!
My morning routine is up at 4AM, get the dogs outside, feed cats, deal with dishes and dishwasher, make coffee, bring dogs in and feed them, check email, get myself ready for my run, put the dogs back in bed with my wife (Norfolk terriers) and out the door by 4:30.
As for Black Friday, I thought I was going to be stuck in line at Best Buy, but they put everything up online earlier in the day – and they even had hidden links to ‘in-store only’ things … so I got the package deal for our older son without going out!
As I put up on Instagram, our younger son worked as DJ at Macy’s in our local mall from 8PM to midnight … it was pretty packed!
I love making Rice Krispie Treats with other cereal! Our cafeteria in college always used to have them with cocoa puffs or honey nut cheerios – but homemade favorite is with Fruit Loops! So tasty!
your routine sounds lovely!! I work a rotation of shifts so no two days are identical for me— sometimes my ‘morning’ routine happens at 10pm!! 🙂
Sometimes I wish my life was a bit like that – I get in a routine and sometimes find myself stuck! 🙂
My morning routine is the same every day and if something messes with it my day is shot. Up at 7am, Little off to school at 8am. Facebook, blogs, comments until 9am then off for a run or workout.:12:30 Lunch and get the next days blog post ready to be scheduled.
Mister says I’m the perfect sniper target 🙂
Sounds a lot like my morning routine minus the child to school 🙂 I am pretty sure I’d be a great sniper target too! LOL love that!
