Time to R.E.L.A.X! This crazy week has finally come to an end.
The past 3 days have been a whirlwind and exhausting. If I am this tired I can’t imagine how my husband is doing!
The past few days have included:
1. 2 pre-residency dinners
2. 2 interviews
3. 2 hospital tours
4. 400 miles
5. One flat tire
6. Both of cell phone chargers dying
7. Spending 2+ hours sitting in traffic
8. Wes getting lost on his run which resulted in him running 15 miles instead of 11, a huge amount of panic and worry for me, and 20 minutes to shower get dressed and get him to is interview.
Now do you see why I am exhausted?
There have been a ton of ups and downs over the past couple days. I am happy to report that we made it through and we are finally able to rest for a few days.
We spent last night and tonight with my family and then Sunday we head to spend a day with Wes’ family.
Backing up to yesterday, I got up and headed down to the hotel gym as Wes was heading to his interview.
I really wanted to get something in, even though I knew I had to take it easy after a lot of walking the night before.
I started off with 30 minutes of walking at 3.5 mph at a 1% incline. I am easing back into walking slowly and keeping the speed and incline lower than I did before when I got myself in trouble.
I also did some weights: squats, tricep extension, bicep curl, tricep dips, and sit ups.
Overall the workout only lasted about 45 minutes, but I was happy to get something in before the weekend starts.
The hotel we stayed at had a pretty awesome breakfast that included just about everything I could ask for.
I opted for oatmeal with dried fruit, oranges, grapes, grapefruit, and OF COURSE coffee!
I am pretty proud of myself for sticking to healthy food options during our travels.
Last night we had a residency dinner and we went to a super fancy restaurant in downtown Charlotte, NC. The foods all seemed way too much for me and I was trying so hard to stay healthy.
I got one of their small salads but requested that they put some grilled salmon on top, which they were more than happy to do.
I wish I could have gotten a picture, but I didn’t want too many questions for snapping pictures 🙂
Just goes to show you – never be scared to asked for substations or changes to the menu.
Since this post has ended up being crazy random, I will leave you with this last picture.
I had my first attempt at curling my hair since I cut it a few months back.
It turned out OK. I am so used to straight hair (even though my hair is naturally curly) it felt so strange all day.
What are your weekend plans? Relaxing or do you have big plans?
We will be taking it pretty easy and relaxing most of the weekend.
I’m glad you’ve got a few days to rest because that sounds like a crazy-busy week!
Thank you! They are much needed that is for sure!
You have been crazy. I work today and then hubby and I are going out to eat tonight. Nothing major around here…fine by me.
I hope you all have a relaxing weekend! I know we are enjoying every minute! Sometimes no plans are the best plans!
That hotel gym is pretty excellent! I have only stayed in a few that were so well equipped!
Glad things are going well – albeit crazy! Hope the interviews continue to go well for Wes and you can keep up with all of your personal goals.
Also good for not snapping a pic of your salad – it is one thing when it is the two of you or with family or friends … but when it is an unknown set of people, especially older people – they can often take a negative view to things like food pics and other phone-centric behaviors.
It was an awesome hotel gym! I usually don’t expect much, but it was definitely a nice one!
Things are going well 🙂 One more week and then we do get a small break!
Majorly busy last few days!! Take care of yourself and great workout!! 🙂

Will do and thank you!! 🙂 It felt so good to get something in!
