The past few days have actually included some things that really made me happy. OK they are small things, but you can’t ever taken them for granted!.
1. Buy One Get One Frozen Yogurt
The best thing happened to me Tuesday night. We went to Menchies Frozen Yogurt because I was craving it bad.
They had my favorite flavor – Cookies N’ Cream AND it was buy one get one free night. I couldn’t turn that down so I got a cup for myself and then filled up another (sans toppings) to put in the freezer.
It was the best feeling in the world to go into my freezer last night and finish up the other cup. So delicious!
It is the little things that make me happy in life lately 🙂
2. The iPhone Returns
Remember a few months ago when I talked about switching phones? We ended up going with the Samsung Galaxy S4. Fail.
My husband and I tried for months to get used to it, use it, and kept hoping we would like it. It never happened. We went back to the iPhone 5.
The phone itself was great (loved the bigger screen) but the Android operating system to me was so slow. I guess if I had never used the iPhone then I wouldn’t notice the difference. We were just going to suck it up, but an opportunity came up for us to trade it so we jumped at it.
We should have them here in the next few days, and I look forward to it!
I love you iPhone I will never doubt you again.
3. Decisions Made
I THINK we are starting to come to some decisions about our future. Unfortunatly, that means we will be waiting another month or so.
The match is not until March 17th so no definitive plans will be made until then. I am OK with that as long as my husband ends up where he wants and is happy. That really is #1 in my book.
I love how much this blog is allowing me to document this whole journey. I know years from now I can look back and I’m sure i’ll be able to smile at what I thought was stressful to me.
4. Part Time Work Begins
I only have one more week until my first part time job begins. I am looking forward to at least helping in some way, and I am still on the hunt for a second job.
I try not to stress about it and really take it a day a time, this all has been such a learning experience for me.
5. I CAN run
The other day I was antsy to run more, but then I just said to myself I CAN run. I can go to the gym, get on the treadmill, and run 3-4 miles. That is enough.
Of course, I want to do more but a month ago I was barely running anything. I’ve come so far and I am so blessed to have the ability to run.
I know none of those things are life changing (and some are just silly), but they have brought me joy this week and I think focusing on the little things in life can really help us to realize our blessings.
What is something little in your life that is making you happy?
I love your list – and also think it is GREAT that you’re taking time to appreciate the little things. Because while there are always huge items that we need to deal with, most days are filled wwith little stuff.
Personally, I am just tickled that Lisa and I are taking a date night on Saturday. Between the holidays, work and her getting sick it has just been crazy. I get these ‘recognition’ awards from work that allow you to choose a gift card and have one to Olive Garden for a while, so we are making use of it!
And it is SO important to just step back and enjoy that you CAN run – like you say, not long ago it wasn’t even possible.
That sounds like so much fun! Enjoy your date night 🙂 Those are the best!
Sara, I love all of these! Most importantly: I am going to need to check if my local menchies does this buy one get one business!!! too good, and dangerous, but awesome. I also look up to you a lot for being slow and patient with your running. No running for me right now because of an injury and I know it will be hard to go back slow but you have to remember that it is better to take it slow so that at some point you WILL be able to do more and you won’t continue the injury cycle.
Something little in my life right now? I have been extra appreciative of all the love and support in my life right now. Moving away from home has been tough but somehow I feel like more people have been showing me how much they love, appreciate and support my goals which is exactly what I need in this time of transition.
So glad to hear you are getting all the love and supports you need 🙂
I have never seen menchies do BOGO but I think since it has been so cold they did it the other night to drum up some business – so worth it though! Sadly, all my Menchies is gone now 🙁
Iphones are the best! I like to tell myself that I “can” run when i start thinking that I “have to run”. I look forward to hearing about your future plans in a couple months! Change can be stressful and scary, but also exciting!
Thank you 🙂 It is scary but I am also very exciting. Just tired of the waiting – I guess I am impatient! hehe
Good for you for appreciating the little things! It really does make such a difference 🙂
My husband swapped to the Samsung Galaxy Note for a few months before going back to an iPhone. You just can’t beat Apple products.
Speaking of my husband, he is what makes me happy. 🙂
Good luck to you and your husband to having patience while waiting to match! I work with a lot of residents, so I know their frustrations and worries while they were waiting to be matched. It will be worth it!
