Good morning! Happy Monday and new week to you all!
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for a reset. Last week was kind of a struggle, so I’m ready to refocus and take this week by storm.
I am going to back up a bit to Saturday. After we got in our workouts I was wiped. I knew that was a sign my body need to rest so I knew right then I needed to take a second rest day this weekend. I took Sunday as a relax and refocus day.
Saturday night we had plans for a double date. We have not been out with others in a while, so even though I was pretty tired I knew it would be a great time.
We had a Mexican dinner (yum!) and then wet to see Wolf of Wall Street.
Verdict? I enjoyed it. It is LONG (right at 3 hours) so if you can’t sit still that long it might not be for you. The husband and I figured if we are going to pay to go to a movie we might as well get our monies worth.
There is a lot of inappropriate parts so if you aren’t into that, I would suggest it. I found the movie to be entertaining and kept me focused the entire 3 hours.
It’s been a while since I have done a Motivation Monday post. I had a tough week last week, so I figured it was about time I did another one!
If you missed the first two:
Life is full of setbacks. In your personal life, fitness life, running life, in just about everything we do. We can fall apart or we can focus on the blessings of life and work hard to make setbacks into something better. I’d be lying if I said the past 6 months have been easy BUT they have taught me a lot about myself and my marriage and that is a blessing.
I am a planner. I know you probably already knew that but I hate not having things planned. When things don’t go as planed sometimes I don’t know how to handle that. I have really focused this past month especially on trying to be more free. I try to let life happen and then I adapt as I need to. I haven’t always succeeded and I probably will continue to work on this for quite some time, but if one thing is certain we cannot plan out life.
I loved this quote. My circumstances and the things that happen to me in life are not what make me. They are not what shape my – my DECISIONS on how I handle those set backs are what define me. I can crumble or I can hold my head up high, keep pushing, and draw closer to those in my life that mean the most.
I have a feeling by now you are starting to see a trend in these quotes. This quote goes along with them all. No matter the setback you can’t give up you have to hold your head high and keep moving. If I am seeing that my workout routine isn’t working, I can’t just stop working out and running I have to stop, regroup, and figure out what is going to work for me
Finally, this was just too cute not to include 🙂
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and if you are like me and are having some struggles (as life always brings us), hold your head up high and keep a smile on your face! YOU make YOU!
What are you focusing on this week?
Do you have a go-to motivational quote for this week/your life?
The Bob’s Red Mill giveaway winner will be announced in my afternoon post! Stay tuned!
I know you struggled last week in particular, and I really hope you do better and feel better with things this week!
My younger son has a lingering cold or possibly sinus infection, we’ll probably take him to the Dr this afternoon … the struggle there is he is going with the French department from high school to Quebec this long weekend … and we want him all better for that so he can fully enjoy!
I like all of the motivational quotes – the one I think I’m not so sure about is what defines you. There is no question that everything that shaped our development from baby through adulthood has shaped us, but that doesn’t mean it should DEFINE us. As the quote says, we make the decisions that shape out lives as adults. So my thought is more like ‘our history shaped who we were, our decisions determine where we are going’.
Thanks Michael! Yes, last week was a tough one at times. I don’t discuss everything in my life on the blog so I’m sure from an outside perspective it is hard to understand what is going on. You know what though? Today is a brand new week/day! I am ready to move on and make this the best week yet! My attitude is the focus this week, even when life throws hard things in our way our attitude doesn’t have to change!
I really like that look at it! I guess what I was going for is life is unpredictable we can either let everything that is thrown at us knock us down or we can use our decisions to decide how we will react – in that case it goes right along with what you were saying!
I keep an inspiration board with quotes like this! I LOVE the mouse with the helmet!!! I totally relate! Also love the one on slashing the other three tires!!!
Never give up! My life mantra ” let your dreams be bigger than your memories”
Hang in there!
Thank you! 🙂 Yes the mouse made me smile!
I love your Motivation Mondays! No matter what was going on last week, I sure hope it’s better this week – you’re off to a great start! Thanks for helping to start my week off right, too!
