After yesterday morning’s post a very awesome reader, Michael, gave me a challenge. I loved it so much I really wanted to share it with you.
I don’t know why this hit me so hard, but it did. I love the idea of focusing on what we are instead of what we aren’t. I know it may seem simple but we often forget the positive traits we each hold.
I took the challenge and set down and made out a list that I thought I would share with you.
“I am Sara, and I am a runner.”
“I am Sara, and I am a person who wears her heart on her sleeve.”
“I am Sara, and I am a very hard worker.”
“I am Sara, and I love my husband with all my heart.”
“I am Sara, and I love food – all kinds of food.”
“I am Sara, and I love helping other people.”
“I am Sara, and I am a nurturer.”
“I am Sara, and I am a person who loves all animals.”
“I am Sara, and I love family.”
“I am Sara, and I always want to fix everyone and everything.”
“I am Sara, and I have overcome very disordered eating.”
There! I did it. I have to say it is amazing what can happen when you focus on the positive.
Now it’s your turn, tell me at least 3 positive statements about yourself! Go!
I am Hayley, and I am strong mentally and physically.
I am Hayley, and I am the best listener.
I am Hayley, and I try to see the good in all things.
I am Hayley, and I am AWESOME!
Love ALL of these! 🙂
Love that you did this. Good for you! I am Megan, and I am dedicated to improving myself each and every day. I am Megan, and I’m working on being more optimistic, deliberate, and enjoying every moment. I am Megan, and I’m doing my best to build a business in something I love. I am Megan, and above all I am a dedicated wife, sister, and daughter. 🙂
Love this! I am Carson and I don’t let what other people say bring me down. I am Carson, and I deliberately speak words of love and kindness to those I communicate with. I am Carson, and I train like I want to reach my goals every single time.
Thanks (*blush*) – glad this struck a nerve … seemed the perfect antidote for your posts. And I LOVE your responses – and those in the comments!
I will do a few more …
I am Michael – and I am a good listener.
I am Michael – and I would do anything for my family
I am Michael – and I AM a runner!
I thought about the eating disorder one you did … but I look at it all as a work in progress, with no idea where it is going. It is one of those things I’m not sure is EVER done. But I am better now than ever in my life.
