Happy Thursday!
I can’t believe how quickly this week has flown by, but you won’t hear me complaining. I’ve gotten so much accomplished and put some fun plans into action.
I recently made this the the background of my phone:
I used to be one of those girls that was full of self-doubt. Someone who didn’t know what the heck I was going to do. I promise you if you want something – go after it! Sure, we may fail but you will never know if you don’t take that first big leap and give it a try. I am at the point in my life where I am ready to take the risk.
Losing my job, even though it was hard, is turning out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.
I guess the point of this rambling is to follow your dreams. However crazy or far fetched it may seem, go for it! I know it may sound cliche to some, but you truly can do whatever you set your mind to!
You have one life, one chance to do whatever you’ve imagined. It may not always be obvious, in fact it has taken me almost 9 months to start to have clarity, but I finally am starting to feel free!
Turn your dreams into plans.
In other news, I had a really great workout yesterday.
For the first time since pre-injury I felt like my old self was really back. My legs felt fresh, my lungs felt clear (thankfully most of this sickness crud is gone), and I was able to completely relax on my run.
I threw in a few quick sporadic minutes here and there but overall kept it easy.
Our gym just got a few new treadmills so I wanted to try it out today. Wes did his first real workout since coming back from injury so I decided it would be a good day for it.
The best part of the new treadmills are the fans at the top.
It is positioned perfectly to keep you cool throughout the run. Our gym gets really warm especially when they are a lot of people there so this really comes in handy! It also seemed to have more “give” then the others which felt better on my legs.
I also tried some new compression socks on the run from Flat Out Compression. They were awesome.
My spirits have really been lifted this week. Lots of great things are coming together, we found a house (signing the lease next week), so far I’ve had some great runs and I have a break from work this weekend to enjoy it!
I would love it if someone would tell whoever is controlling this snowy weather that I am ready for enjoyable and relaxing runs in warmer temperatures and sun. I’m OVER WINTER.
Tell me something great about your week so far!
Ever taken a chance and followed a big dream?
Awesome post, Sara. Yay for both of you for getting back into your running slowly. I feel both you and Wes will come back stronger. Life is about taking some chances. My biggest chance so far was in my mid 20’s and I decided to not continue on with my masters in Nutrition and accepted a position working at HP. 18 years later, I am so happy I did that but it was a leap of faith and I think there were some that really wondered.
Have you seen this post, yet? Number 7 really aligns with your post, I think….

Thats so awesome that you took that leap of faith and made your dreams a reality! I am trying to do that more and more now. I need to make this life the life I’ve always wanted 🙂
Love that!! Thanks for sharing!
Love that quote! I try to live by that, and chase my dreams despite my fears and doubts. I recently followed my dream to bike across the country, and I’m going to do it this summer with an organization called 4K for Cancer! I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to do something like this, to be able do something I love (cycling) to help raise awareness for young adults with cancer.
How amazing JoJo! That is an awesome opportunity – I look forward to following along and reading all about it. You are inspiring!
It’s amazing how something that seems bad can be exactly what you always wanted. I’m so happy for you. My week is awesome because my husband and I are going on a couples retreat! Thanks for sharing. What compression socks do you recommend?
That sounds awesome! I would love to go on a couples retreat sometimes.
As far as compression go, I really enjoyed the Flat Out 110% Compression socks. I will be doing a review in the future. My other favorite are PRO Compression – they have great options and so many awesome colors!
Beautiful quote Sara! I found your blog via SITSGirls. You are truly an inspiration and I agree, as I get older I am more willing to take the leap of faith & dare to be bold. One of those risks was putting 100% of my energy into my blog. Its only been a few months and the opportunities have already began to surface. There is still a lot of work to be done but I’m glad to be doing the thing that I would do free. It is in discovering our passions that we turn dreams into reality.
Thank you Regina 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! I agree when you devote time to something it is amazing what it can become! Glad you have found something you are so passionate about as well. I always say one day at a time – you will be amazed where a little focus and dedication can get you!
