Happy Friday! For the first time since we moved we are hanging out at home this weekend. We have plans with family on Sunday but up until then we have the whole weekend to relax and explore.
I finished my last run before my rest day yesterday morning. I’ve been struggling with feeling really tired from the heat and humidity so I decided to give myself a break and run on the treadmill. This made all the difference.
The workout called for: 20 minutes “out” followed by 20 minutes “back” quicker. I started with a slow 5 minute warm up, 20 minutes which average around an 8:30 and then the last 20 minutes I worked down to end at a 7:43 pace.
I had this pretty girl hanging out with me the entire time. She actually kept freaking me out because Wes was out running (I was supposed to go pick him up after I finished) and she kept running to the steps and looking up like she heard something.
I must have paused my music 4-5 times trying to see if I could hear anything. Silly girl!
Sorry for the grainy pictures, we don’t get the most light coming into the basement.
It’s been a while since I have shared some of my new favorite music, so I figured I’d compile another list for you all!
1. Fancy – Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX
My husband doesn’t like this song. Probably because it gets stuck in my head and I walk around singing it all day but I really enjoy it for workouts!
2. Born to Do – Steven Cooper
We actually hear this song while watching a made for TV documentary on the NFL draft. It has an awesome beat and is another great song to pump you up for a hard workout!
3. Whiskey in My Water – Tyler Farr
Not a real fast song, but it is great for easy runs. Actually, I just really like this song!
4. Ready Set Roll – Chase Rice
A fun country song with a quick pace. I guess moving back to the south has really brought some of the country girl in me back out!
5. Yeah – Joe Nichols
Another slower song, but I love it for longer slow runs.
This morning when I woke up I pulled up my Time Hop app and saw this.
3 years ago today we arrived in Charleston, SC for our honeymoon. Oh what I would give to be back there right now!
What is your favorite song on your iPod currently?
What is one of your favorite vacation spots?
Love finding new songs for my play lists– thanks!
Hope you enjoy them 🙂
haha – I love TimeHop for exactly that reason! The other day I was reminded of the lake cruise Lisa and the boys took me on 5 years ago for Father’s Day (late that year apparently). Love how it brings back memories like that!
As for music – my wife loves the Fancy song and sings it all the time as well. I’m not a pop music person so I don’t know any of the songs on your list. As you know, I also don’t use music while running. But one song that seems to be coming up a lot is one I blame Cori from http://shesgoingthedistance.com for getting into my head a couple of months ago, called ‘Wishery’ from Pogo, which is made up of audio cuts from ‘Snow White’. Check it out:

I really LOVE TimeHop! I am able to completely re-live our honeymoon this week each time I check it! HAHA
Thanks for sharing some songs, I need recommendations since I am currently out of it with music and on a podcast kick.
I am not picky with vacations spots, I like to be near a body of water and have the weather not too hot!
Yes, I agree if I am near a body of water I am good as well!
Thats so fun!! I love Charleston! Timehop always makes me so nostalgic!
Charleston is one of my favorite places 🙂
I’m totally jamming to these songs at work right now! Oldie but goodie– I love listening to The Hives when I work out!
Glad they helped you through work 🙂 I just downloaded some new things for my long run tomorrow!
