You might remember a few weeks ago I shared with you all a great snack I’d been enjoying, Manitoba Harvest Hemp Bites. They quickly became my go-to taper week snack and have continued to be even after my marathon.
After enjoyed the Hemp Bites so much, I decided to incorporate more Hemp seeds into my daily foods. Hemp seeds are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason! These nutty little seeds pack on not only the protein but great nutrition as well!

What I love so much aside from the nutritional value of the Hemp Hearts is the way they are so easily utilized in so many delicious recipes.
They can be used on top of your favorite yogurt, mixed in with a great smoothie, and even used in some great baking!
Here are just a few delicious examples right from Manitoba Harvest:
I’ve enjoyed these on my salads, morning yogurt, oatmeal, and even sprinkled on chicken! It’s a simple and delicious way to add a boost of flavor and health to really just about any meal.
The importance of nutrition to runners really goes without saying. While many of us may be able to “sneak by” for a while, in the end what you eat and put into your body directly impacts you performance each day. That’s why finding simple and easy healthy additions to any meal that provide nutritional value is so important.

I had no idea hemp hearts had so much protein. They sounds like the perfect addition to a smoothie!
What a protein boost! Will have to give them a go 😀
