If you are interest in tracking my hubby today as he runs the Chicago Marathon his bib # is 359!
As of Monday we will officially 8 weeks form meeting our little man (assuming he comes on time). I just can’t get over how close yet far away it feels all at the same time! We are coming along but still have a ways to go. After my shower next weekend we will be able to narrow down what we need to get and finally get started on setting up the nursery. Right now we have the walls painted and curtains hung, with the rest of the stuff just piled in the closet and in the room.
Here is a look at week 31!
Baby in Week 31
31 Weeks: This week our little guy is the size of asparagus and is roughly 16.1 inches and 3.3 lbs.
Had to get a quick Chicago picture this week since we were traveling!
Weight Gained: At my appointment on Thursday I had gained 2 lbs. since my last appointment for a total of 20 lbs. Looking back so far at a lot of my weight gain I seemed to add weight pretty quickly at the end of my 1st trimester and beginning of my second. As the pregnancy has progressed, it’s leveled out some.
Symptoms: Thankfully the nausea has settled down this week except for one time. I’ll take it! I’m still having issues with breathing from time to time depending on how he is positioned. I’ve learned to just rest until it goes away or lie down if need be.
Food Aversions: I haven’t had any real big aversions but I’ve noticed my stomach cannot hold as much food as it once did. I’ve really had to become more focused on the small meals every 2-3 hours. This was how I was eating before I’ve just had make sure I’m making some meals smaller and adding some where I can.
Food Cravings: Still loving my ice cream and cupcakes. I don’t know if this is a pregnancy craving or just something I am always going to love, but they are still at the top of my list. Ice cream is on the menu pretty much every evening at this point. Oh well!
Sleep: About the same as last week. I still wake up a lot and have to get up to use the bathroom 2-3 times a night sometimes. On a good night it’s only once. Traveling always makes it a little more difficult with sleep but I just go with the flow. I cut down my running once we were on the run so it wasn’t as exhausting to have to get up early.
Baby Items Purchased: We did purchase a few baby clothes this week! We found a good sale and it was fun. Plus to be honest, I was having a bit of a “I’m struggling with this whole pregnancy” thing day so it really helped me to purchase a few things.
Exciting Things Happening This Week: I had my appointment. Everything was great and baby is measuring on track at 32 weeks and a heartbeat in the 140s. We are also in Chicago which I’m really excited to watch my husband race and get away for a bit (aside from the longgggggg car ride).
Looking forward To: My baby shower is next weekend! I’m excited to see everyone and celebrate this wonderful little boy that will be joining our family.
Running in Week 31
Running went pretty well this week. I didn’t have a long run but overall I’m still happy with what I was able to do. Some days I have to remind myself just to focus on how much of a blessing it is to still be able to run. The weather also finally cooled down which was such a blessing, even though I only got to run outside one morning. I look forward to fall running so much each year!
Here is a breakdown of my running this week:
Monday – 5.2 miles on the treadmill
Tuesday – 4.2 miles on the treadmill; 10 minutes spinning
Wednesday – 5.2 miles on the treadmill
Thursday – 5.27 miles outside
Friday – 4.20 miles on the treadmill
Saturday – 2.05 miles outside
Sunday – Off
This week was a little different due to traveling for the marathon. I knew ahead of time a long run probably wasn’t going to happen. I just decided ahead of time I would do what I can and pick up the long run again next week (of course that is always depending on how I feel).
We spent all day in the car on Friday, so I knew getting in a few miles before we left was probably a good idea. Unfortunately, it was raining so I was forced to be on the treadmill but still made the most of it and ran 4.2 miles before we headed out on the road.
My favorite run this week by far was my Thursday morning run. I got to sleep in a little later due to a doctor’s appointment so I went with my hubby downtown for a change of scenery. The change plus the cool weather made me feel renewed.
My miles were down this week, which I expected, since there wasn’t a real long run. I still got in 26 miles at 31 weeks, so I’m pretty happy with that!
Make sure to check back tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have an update on the marathon outcome! Don’t forget follow me on Instagram and SnapChat (RunningWife).
How did your running go this week?
I love the picture with the baby bump peeking out 🙂 I’m so inspired by your running during pregnancy! Keep it up!
Thank you SO much Emily!
