I know my Easton updates steer a little away from running, but I hope you’ll let me sneak a few of these in because they are so fun for me to do.
Wednesday our sweet boy turned 3 months old. Yes, 3 months! It does not feel like that could even be possible, but alas it is.
It’s truly amazing the changes that I see each and every day. He is so different from where he was 1 or even 2 months ago. Each day there are new surprised and its makes me so excited to see what new things he will learn each and every day.
Here’s our monthly photo:
For a comparison of how he has changed over the past 3 months:
We don’t have an exact updated weight but we did a quick measurement and are guessing somewhere between 12 and 13 lbs.
He really is a happy baby. The only times he really gets upset is when he gets hungry or he is going through a growth spurt. He loves to smile, make lots of noises, and we are pretty certain he says “hi.” I keep trying to get a good video of it but the moment I take my phone out he stops. I’ll keep working on it!
He’s much more alert and loves to look around at everything. He especially loves trips to the grocery store in the evening with daddy and I. He will smile and “talk” as we walk around everywhere. It’s amazing to see him take so many different things and explore the world around him.
We’ve also now discovered our hands! He is constantly putting them in his mouth and I am pretty sure eventually he is going to find his thumb and starting sucking it, but we will wait and see. He likes his pacifier but it isn’t something he has to have so right now we only use it when he gets upset or needs something to help soothe himself.
He’s becoming so big to me that it is hard to wrap my head around. In fact just yesterday I went through and boxed up all of his newborn clothes and I shed a tear or two. I can’t believe he is already growing so fast. It’s a wonderful thing but it also makes me realize just how fast time is passing.
The one thing Easton is NOT is a napper. We have tried just about everything to get him to nap but the most I can get each day is two 20-45 minutes naps, and that is on a good day! At first I thought I was doing something wrong but after trying it ALL I think that is just how he is. He sleeps pretty well at night – one 5-6 hour stretch and then about 2-3 hours after that. We have our rough nights but overall he is a good sleeper at night so I can’t complain. The only problem he runs into without napping as much is sometimes at night he gets really tired and has a hard time calming himself down. We’ve gotten better at that!
I don’t get to wash my hair very often (hence the rough hair above) about 2x a week. Thank goodness for dry shampoo! Other than that we are learning this crazy world together. I can’t even begin to describe the amount of love I have for this sweet boy. I am so honored to be his Mom and he has changed my world in so many incredible ways. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store!
