I often get a lot of questions and emails regarding my training with Hansons Marathon Method that got me from a 4:38 to a 3:29 marathon and my BQ within one training cycle! While these results aren’t typical for everyone, I wanted a place where I could share my story with you all.
This was the actual plan I used for my first BQ. If you’d like get your own copy of Hansons Marathon Method you can find it here. I highly recommend purchasing the book as I did make some changes to the schedule they recommend due to time constraints I had. They also have some really great information and break down specifically the paces you should be hitting on almost every run.
You can read my full review of Hansons Marathon Method here. I chose this plan with the single goal of helping me get my very first Boston Qualifying time. It is important to note that prior to starting my marathon training plan I also did a 10 week 10k training which helped me specifically focus on speed.
I ended up running the Kiawah Island Marathon and achieved a goal which at the time I never thought would be possible. I’ve since cut even more time off my marathon PR and have big goals for the future!
